Reykavik

So today we were going inside a glacier.

Tour started at the pier and we went 45 minutes to the place where the first Icelandic parliament was and also where you can see now the tectonic plates have moved. The weather was awful and the guide terrible and we were really rushed.

Then a one and a half hour drive to the glacier. The guide here was excellent and although as we drove up we couldn’t see anything the weather did improve on the journey down. We went into the glacier which was quite extraordinary. The photos don’t really do it justice. In the chapel you could see where water had frozen in the walls. Definitely a once in a lifetime thing to do.

After that we had lunch and went to some waterfalls we saw last year and in the photos the brown water is this year and I have put one from last year to compare the colour. This year it looked horrible. We got back to the ship at 545 the last ones on.
