Well what a lovely surprise this little town was. We tendered in and followed Chef Jes and he went into a forcaccio shop and bought everything they had…he then proceeded to a pesto shop where he bought loads of pesto. I tried some on some bread and it was delicious.
We wandered the tiny streets and went to the church which from the 1100’s standing high on the cliff. We then went to another church where there was a ‘miracle’ a painting of the Virgin Mary which had washed ashore in a hollow trunk in 1204 and was up damaged!
Climbed up to the castle and sat and watched the world go by before walking back through the streets again to get the tender back to the ship. Really delightful town and only 30 minutes from La Spezia where we dock with the children in a couple of weeks time. Some people from the ship got the bus which was 3 euros to La Spezia.
Look at the chocolate waiting in our roomPhotos to follow when the I cloud has caught up
