Sitka

Tender again today into Sitka. Well we can’t complain about the weather so far but we can today! Bit of rough sea in the night which woke me but being in the middle of the ship is the best place.

We walked around Sitka for an hour before our tour which was a hike in the Tongrass National Park. If the weather had been kinder it would have been better but our guide seemed to think it should take three hours even in the pouring rain. We were stood on a beach for ten minutes getting soaked whilst she asked everyone where they came from….no common sense. Anyway the walk was pleasant and we saw salmon spawning which was absolutely fascinating.

After three hours hiking we were very wet and cold so we’re pleased to get back on the ship and go to Afternoon Tea which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Weather will apparently be rougher tonight on our way to the Hubbard Glacier, let’s hope we can see something this time.
